ServTraq calculates the Energy Burden (EB) percentage using the formula: monthly energy cost ÷ monthly income. 

The exact and actual value of this calculation will be used as the energy burden. 

FOR EXAMPLE: 

1) Monthly Energy Cost = 126.57

2) Monthly Income = 2111.00

-> Energy Burden: .0599857 = 5.99%

If there are two EB priority groups: 

Group 1: 0% - 5.99% - 2 points

Group 2: 6% to 9.99% - 4 points

The EB percentage (5.99%) will fall into Group 1 and receive 2 points.  

In this example, the energy burden will NOT round up to 6% and fall into Group 2 because the actual value (.0599857) is BELOW .6 or 6%.
